Teens Without 2 is a Non-Profit Organization, providing college scholarship opportunites for teens from single parent households. The Organization was created on June 25, 2013 by Katie Mitchell. Katie was raised in a single parent household and personally knows the financial struggle teens face in these difficult and disadvantaged circumstances. In order to gain a college education, Katie sought out scholarship opportunities and has been awarded multiple scholarships, which paid for her college education and allowed her to graduate debt free from Virginia Commonwealth University with her Bachelors degree in Forensic Science. The Miss America Organization has also been a large scholarship provider for Katie and has opened many doors for her community service work as well. Katie has worked with children and teens at juvenile detention centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, various schools, with the ACCESS College Foundation, and now Teens Without 2 (parents), mentoring them, stressing the importance of a college education, helping them set goals for themselves and working to accomplish those goals. Without scholarships, Katie would not have been able to pay for college, and knowing that others are in the same situtation, she wants to help others by providing scholarship opportunities with her Non-Profit Organization, Teens Without 2.
